What you can search

## Search the LinkedIn Ad Library

GET /v1/linkedin/ads takes one of three subjects and the filters this library has. A filter it doesn’t have is refused by name, so nothing is silently ignored.

### A company

company takes a name; company\_id takes LinkedIn’s id.

### A keyword

q finds ads with those words.

Parameters of GET /v1/linkedin/ads
| Parameter | Values | Default |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `company` | A company name, as LinkedIn shows it. | One subject is required |
| `q` | Words in the ad. | One subject is required |
| `company_id` | LinkedIn’s company id, from a search result’s advertiser.id. | One subject is required |
| `countries` | Comma separated ISO 3166 alpha-2 | All |
| `date_from` | YYYY-MM-DD | Any |
| `date_to` | YYYY-MM-DD | Any |
| `cursor` | next\_cursor from the last page, with the same parameters | First page |

One ad

## What one ad’s detail adds

GET /v1/ads/{id} returns the ad with everything the LinkedIn Ad Library shows about it, in one call, for 2 credits.

- The full text, format and dates the ad ran.
- Who paid for it, as LinkedIn’s “Paid for by” shows.
- For ads shown in the EU: total impressions, impressions by country, and the top targeting.

### Where the library is thin

LinkedIn’s library covers ads shown anywhere, but impressions and targeting only for ads shown in the EU. A US only ad gives its advertiser, text, dates and who paid. Dates must fall within the last year.

ScrapeCreators, Adyntel and SearchAPI also search the LinkedIn Ad Library.

Sandbox

## Every answer, before your first live search

Your sandbox key comes the moment you sign up. Any search returns sample ads from made-up advertisers in the live shape, and these searches return what a live one can. None of them uses a credit.

Questions

## Before you build

### Is there an official LinkedIn Ad Library API?

LinkedIn’s own API for its Ad Library is gated: you apply for access. Public Ads API reads the public library pages, so you can start with a key today.

### Why does a LinkedIn search use 2 credits?

LinkedIn blocks about half of lookups, so we retry them on new addresses, which costs us more. A page with ads uses 2 credits; a blocked search that fails on every address uses none.

### What does a LinkedIn search cost?

A page of up to 24 ads uses 2 credits, and so does one ad with all its detail. On Growth ($49 for 25,000 credits) that is about $0.163 per 1,000 ads with full pages. An empty page, a block, an error and every sandbox call use nothing. The free plan has 100 credits a month and needs no card.

### Can I see who paid for an ad?

Yes. One ad’s detail carries payer, LinkedIn’s “Paid for by”, for ads shown anywhere.
